A guided journey is different from journeying alone with mushrooms. I use the term journey to signify that this is a time away from time within a sacred container. All of my journeys are held with the utmost respect for the mushrooms we use. Having the proper attitude towards and relationship with the mushrooms is an essential part of creating a safe and productive space for deep healing work to happen.
Because my approach to this medicine happens within a ceremonial context, it looks and feels different from both a clinical therapeutic setting or a recreational setting. I incorporate a myriad of musical instruments, songs, and often time even fire when available into our work together. It looks and feels like an ancient, earthen form of healing. Often first time clients will feel a sense of familiarity once they are in the space and a deep knowing that they have done this before.
What makes my work unique is its three-way intersection between modern psychology, somatic awareness, and ancient intuitive spiritual modalities. Most guides lack training or expertise in one or more of these three disciplines. I truly believe it is the perfect trifecta in approaching this work, and that without all three of these pillars in place there is real danger present in exploring mushrooms for healing. I have many stories I can share with you to this end on why these three pillars are so important, and what can go wrong if any one of them is ever missing.
I offer private guided journeys for women in intimate settings. I prefer to guide journeys in Mancos where I live since that is where I am most connected to the land and can do my best work. My experiences working with Ayahuasca and mushrooms for the last 10 years have always required me to travel to remote places where my guides live close to the earth. I mirror that legacy in my own practice. I want my clients to feel a legitimate sense of pilgrimage and place, which is frankly lost in city contexts or modern offices that offer convenience but lack connection. I understand it's not an aesthetic that will resonate with everyone, but I'm committed to this model as my attempt to preserve the dignity and sacredness of this work amidst the growing market of transactionalism and rapid scaling in this industry. I am also sometimes available for travel within the state of Colorado.
The cost of a 1:1 guided journey is $2,000. I offer a substantial sliding scale on an as-need basis with a letter of intent.
If you have a small group of women who all know each other and share community together who are interested in a group experience, please inquire directly with me.
Each journey begins in the afternoon and ends around midnight. There is always ample time before we ingest any medicine to discuss concerns and intentions. The pace is relaxed and considerate. We will go to sleep that night in the same location and spend the next morning together in conversation about and reflection on your journey.
Clients who travel to me from long distances often opt to schedule 2 or 3 guided journeys within a week and make a retreat out of it. I strongly encourage you to consider this option if it is within your means to do so because of the exponential cumulative impact multiple sessions can have.
I typically have an assistant working alongside me when available to tend to basic needs for both me and you throughout the journey.
Within the context of my work, I specialize in a number of different areas. Below are a few pages pages dedicated to a deeper exploration of each of these topics. I invite you to discuss your particular needs and desires with me on a consultation call, as I am always expanding my areas of expertise and I might have experience with things not listed here that you feel are important for your unique needs.
I highly advise clients to work with me ahead of time to prepare for our time together. I offer virtual sessions at an hourly rate of $150/hour where I get to know your nervous system through somatic inquiry, and help you hone your intentions for your journey. There is a huge added value in proper preparation and integration in getting as much out of the experience as possible. Getting to know each other ahead of time in this way usually makes a huge difference in your guided journey.
Sessions with me typically include learning how to get in touch with your body in deeper ways as a means to both knowing yourself and releasing stored trauma. If you are feeling cautious about taking natural medicine for the first time, I will help you to feel more confident and centered going into the experience.
I have worked as Trauma Resolution Specialist with a group counseling practice for the last 4 years as well as regularly guiding medicine journeys for the past two years. This work is very familiar and enjoyable for me, and I want it to be that way for you as well. Working with me ahead of time is an excellent way to build rapport, trust, and a sense of safety going into your experience.
